Song Analysis; John Denver - Country Roads
Todays
task was to choose a song related to the topic we’ve being working on; third
cultured kids. TCK are kids that constantly move from one country to another
because of their parents work. As this kids change constantly the country they
live, they generate a mixed cultural identity integrating the cultures of the
countries where they have lived. I’ve picked a song I like very much and talks
about a person how wants to go back to his real home. This is the song I’ve
picked.
Almost heaven West Virginia
The
song Country Roads talks about a person from United States how lives far away
from his real home, and wants to go back to it.
The
importance of this song is that it has a similar topic than the one expressed
by TCK. The idea of temporary home, and the feeling of not belonging to the place
where you live are common aspects for the song and the TCKs document we have
being reading.
We
